When is the Diamond Dash?
Saturday, August 18th, 2018. Please be checked-in by 11:25am (this is when you'll get your t-shirt to wear during the Dash), we will go over Rules & Regulations promptly at 11:30am (come early if you have any IT questions or issues--check-in and IT available starting at 10:30am), the race is from 12 – 2pm and the post party and prize ceremony (food, sponsor booths, & PRIZES) will be from approx. 2:15pm until approximately 3:30pm.
Where is the Diamond Dash?
This year, the Diamond Dash is taking over Eldridge, Iowa! We will start (and end) at the North Scott Senior High School, located at 200 S. 1st St., Eldridge, IA 52748.
What is the Diamond Dash?
The Diamond Dash is the Midwest’s Largest Scavenger Hunt Race! It is an adventurous foot race where you play in teams of 2, racing from stop to stop, solving riddles and completing fun tasks and challenges along the way! You compete for your share of OVER $40,000 IN PRIZES! The winning team will be the ones that earn the most points in the fastest time! There will be prize packages awarded to the top teams, and plenty more fun prizes (even if you don't place)! *Must be present to win prizes. The best part is the Diamond Dash is all for charity! This year’s charity is the Handicapped Development Center.
What should we bring?
Bring your teammate (you both must be over 21 by the day of the Dash), your ID, a refillable water bottle would be great (if you like), your smart phone (must be Android or iPhone), maybe an umbrella (depending on the weather forecast) and, most importantly, a lot of energy and a competitive spirit! Remember, this is a foot race – no bikes or any other form of transportation can be used, and you must stay with your partner the whole time!
What should we wear?
Be sure to wear gym/tennis shoes, workout attire, and possibly a light jacket (depending upon the weather). You will be given an event t-shirt at check-in to wear during the race, this will identify you as a Dasher as you run about the town!
Does it cost money to participate?
There is a registration fee to participate in the Diamond Dash -- 100% of which goes directly to the Handicapped Development Center. There is an early registration discount if you sign up by August 3rd! If you register by 11:59pm on 8/3/18, it's only $25 per team! After that (you can register up until the day of the race, as long as there is still space available--there is a maximum number of teams), its $40 per team. Each teammate receives a $25 gift card to Necker's Jewelers (and the t-shirt and awesome swag bag!), so you're coming out ahead already!! Click here to register.
I registered, but what if I forgot my password?
There is a link on the registration page that can help you with this. However, if you are having any IT issues at all, please come a bit early the day of the Dash to work with our IT team (or e-mail us ahead of time for help).
What are pre-clue points and how do I earn them?
We will send out an e-mail, post on the Diamond Dash webpage on our website, and post on our Facebook page letting you know where to go to earn these points the week prior to the Dash. You can head to any, or all, of the Pre Clue locations to earn early points that will be added to your score. THESE POINTS HAVE SEPARATED OUR WINNING TEAMS THE PAST 4+ YEARS—so they’re very important!! (but not mandatory)
Where do I park for the Diamond Dash?
Park in the parking lot at North Scott High School, or any legal spot on the street.
What prizes can I win?
Each participant (both teammembers, and all volunteers) will get an official event t-shirt, a $25 Necker’s gift card, and a swag bag.
