Necker’s Jewelers Partners with Center for Active Senior Citizens (CASI): Gift of Giving Charity for November
At Necker’s Jewelers, we are committed to giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years. As part of our ongoing Gift of Giving charity initiative, we are proud to announce that Center for Active Seniors (CASI) will be the recipient of a portion of all sales at Necker’s Jewelers for the month of November.
CASI is a beloved organization that has been serving seniors in the Quad Cities for over 40 years, providing a range of services that enhance the lives of older adults. Through its programs, resources, and support systems, CASI helps seniors maintain their independence, engage in social activities, and live their lives to the fullest. During the month of November, a percentage of all in-store and online purchases at Necker’s Jewelers will go directly to CASI to support their ongoing mission to improve the quality of life for seniors in our community.
In this blog, we’ll share more about the vital work CASI does, the services they provide, and how you can help support this incredible organization by shopping with purpose at Necker’s Jewelers this November.
What is the Center for Active Seniors (CASI)?
The Center for Active Seniors (CASI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of older adults in the Quad Cities. For more than four decades, CASI has provided services and programs that promote health, independence, and active living for seniors.
With a focus on social, physical, and emotional well-being, CASI works to ensure that aging adults have the resources they need to thrive. From providing meals and transportation to offering educational and recreational programs, CASI helps seniors stay connected, engaged, and empowered as they navigate life’s later years.
CASI’s mission is simple: to empower seniors to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives. They believe that every senior deserves the opportunity to remain active, socially engaged, and independent, and they work tirelessly to provide a welcoming environment where older adults can find the support they need.
Key Programs and Services Provided by CASI
CASI offers a wide variety of services and programs tailored to meet the unique needs of seniors in our community. Here are some of the key services they provide:
1. Active Living & Recreation
CASI offers a wide range of social, recreational, and fitness programs that help seniors stay active and engaged. From exercise classes to art workshops to dance and music programs, CASI provides opportunities for seniors to stay physically fit and mentally sharp while having fun in a supportive, social environment. 2. Meals & Nutrition
Good nutrition is a cornerstone of healthy aging, and CASI provides nutritious meals to seniors through their Meals on Wheels program and onsite meal options. These meals help ensure that seniors have access to healthy, balanced food, especially for those who may have limited mobility or difficulty preparing meals on their own.
3. Health & Wellness Services
CASI offers health screenings, wellness programs, and access to community healthcare resources to support the physical and mental health of older adults. These services empower seniors to take control of their health, manage chronic conditions, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
4. Transportation Assistance
For many seniors, getting around can be a challenge. CASI helps by providing transportation services that allow seniors to attend appointments, visit family, or participate in community activities, ensuring they remain connected and independent.
5. Educational Programs & Workshops
Education is a lifelong pursuit, and CASI offers educational programs, including technology classes, financial planning, and safety workshops, to help seniors navigate the challenges of aging while enhancing their knowledge and skills.
6. Caregiver Support
CASI offers valuable resources and support to caregivers who are caring for aging loved ones. These programs help caregivers manage the challenges of caregiving while maintaining their own well-being, ensuring that both seniors and their families receive the support they need.
7. Social Engagement & Volunteer Opportunities
One of CASI’s primary goals is to reduce social isolation among seniors. Through social events, community outings, and volunteer opportunities, CASI helps seniors build relationships, create meaningful connections, and give back to the community in ways that are fulfilling and impactful. 3. Volunteer Your Time
CASI is always in need of volunteers to help with programs, events, and community outreach. Whether you’re assisting with transportation, helping with meals, or leading a fitness class, there are countless ways to give your time and make a difference in the lives of local seniors.
4. Spread the Word
Share information about CASI (like this blog) and the wonderful work they’re doing with your friends and family. The more people who are aware of the services they provide, the greater the impact we can have as a community. Encourage others to support CASI in any way they can.
5. Attend CASI Events
CASI regularly hosts events, fundraisers, and social gatherings for seniors. By attending or participating in these events, you’ll be directly supporting the organization while connecting with others in the community.
